Thinking about how forgiveness works. What if one person never did wrong? How does one forgive? What does it mean to be forgiven? Misbehaviour? Or are we solely grieving a love that could have been? Where one just wants to be wanted. What can be said about the repetition of gestures, actions or words of love? How does one gather them in order to know what is real or what is a lie? How much can we perform love? How does one deal with the pain of a lost lover? Denial? Hatred? Fleeing? Or is it the act of waiting? We fight, because we are scared, scared to be alone. Love, oh how bitter sweet it can be.

Collectively we succumb to failure. What does it mean to fail at love? An end, an end of a negotiation once had. And a new one to begin, where love is rethought. Where love ends and human connection continues. A rough path, or a kind friendship.

“this should have been done a long time ago” intends to showcase the post separation of an intimate relationship. What it means to renegotiate the terms with a past lover. What it means to struggle to keep something important, only to realize you are trying to keep something that can’t be kept. How does one de stigmatize a break up? Is it by placing it in a space where one can void judgment, and placing relationships on an unbiased table. Truth, facts, love and pain. I want to objectify a personal relationship. There is an everlasting tug of war between two lovers. Every personal relationship deals with the very general term of negotiation. But my real interest is in  the memory of apology and the renegotiation that comes with forgiveness. The act of waiting. Waiting for the right person to fall into your lap, waiting for love to destroy itself, waiting for its apology, waiting for yourself to realize that life goes on with or without you.

Stop talking is a video installation comprising four video auditions. This work is underpinned by a keen interest in exploring the dichotomy between the private and the public, its intricate relationship with language, and the nuanced interplay between internalized and vocalized facets of self. These video auditions stem from a script revolving around an intense internal dialogue-an argument, if you will- between me & me about me.
